Burgundy is made up of small vineyards up and down the Côte d'Or, some with premier cru or grand cru status. This wine is from a premier cru vineyard with a unique classification due to geography. One of the best, most sought after premier cru vineyards in Pommard is the Les Epenots, which rests on the border between the villages of Pommard and Beaune. This exceptional Pommard is from an equally famous premier cru vineyard named Les Argillières.
This exceptional wine is made from clay-limestone soils, from vines
of 21 years, in the premier cru vineyard of Les Argillières in Pommard. Aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% to 40% of which are new, resulting in a wine with a very subtle, harmonious aromatic expression made of spicy and stone fruits notes, followed by a mellow and gourmet mouth, with fine and supple tannins, making this premier cru a fully seductive and charming wine.
