Founded by Molly and Donn Chappellet in 1967, today a second generation of the Chappellet family has embraced the mountain’s exceptional terroir of Pritchard Hill and is committed to stewarding their father’s vision for generations to come. Chappellet is recognized as one of the great Napa Valley wineries, and one of the few which remains family owned. Today, the second generation siblings are dedicated to maintaining sustainable farming techniques and a relentless focus on wine quality. 

Since its first vintage in 1968, Chappellet has consistently set the standard for mountain grown wines of rare depth, longevity and elegance. Pritchard Hill is the source of some of the world’s finest mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignons, earning numerous comparisons to the great First Growths of Bordeaux. Pritchard Hill has been dubbed “Napa Valley’s Rodeo Drive” and “Napa Valley’s Grand Cru”.

Chappellet's Mountain Cuvée is one of the best buys in all of Napa Valley for a seriously good Cabernet-based red. Blended from the traditional Bordeaux varietals, including the estate's own coveted grapes, the Chappellet Mountain Cuvée Proprietor’s Blend builds on 50+ years of crafting great mountain-grown wines. Each grape variety in the cuvée contributes nuances that complement each other. The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure pleasure in a glass. Made for more near-term enjoyment, this is the wine to choose when you’re looking for vivid, mouthfilling fruit flavors. Typically made of more than 50% of Cabernet Sauvignon along with smaller percentages of Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
