Founded in 1971, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards has always searched for vineyards with unique soil and climate characteristics. Winemaker Tom Mackey, who has been with St. Francis for over 25 years, has cultivated an in-depth understanding of each Sonoma appellation, which he has used to acquire and develop the very best grapes for St. Francis wines.
This Cab has ripe, chewy blackberry and black currant flavors on a lush, velvety palate followed by impressions of cedar, tobacco, spice and vanilla with supple, round tannins on the finish. Serve with juicy ribeye steaks, grilled chicken and burgers or with hard flavorful cheeses such as classic cheddars and/or Tres Leches from Spain.
Lively and expressive, this Cabernet shows off layered aromatics and rich flavors. Dark red fruits, wild berries and black cherry notes are complemented with spicy accents of clove, licorice and a bit of ground espresso bean. The concentrated flavors and smooth tannins are balanced with a thread of acidity for a long, juicy finish.
