The Don Miguel Vineyard is named after the late patriarch of the Torres family, owner Marimar Torres' father. This sustainable vineyard is located in the Green Valley, which is the coolest, foggiest region of the Russian River Valley, only ten miles from the Pacific Ocean. Planted in the European-style high density of over 2,000 vines/acre, the yields are low and labor is intensive; but the vines live longer and the grapes acquire better balance and greater concentration, as well as more elegance and finesse. The vineyard's 30 acres of Chardonnay are planted with three different clones.
Winegrower Marimar Torres hails from a legendary, regal wine family from Spain. She fell in love with California as a young adult, and set out to make a name for herself in America. Marimar chose the rolling hills of western Sonoma County, the Russian River/Green Valley appellation, a perfect microclimate for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Only 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 50 miles north of San Francisco, the site is influenced by the sea's cooling breezes and drifting fog. That is why Marimar Torres selected this privileged location to 'export' the Torres family legacy of fine wines to California. Today she is joined by her daughter Cristina, who we had the pleasure of meeting, and the two women create and promote beautiful, elegant wines made with sustainable and organic methods.

A gorgeous California Chardonnay with just the right balance of ripe fruit, French vanillan oak and refreshing energy. The luscious nose has ripe tangerine, peach, melon and jasmine aromas. The palate is mouthfilling and rich, yet fresh, elegant and balanced with notes of lemon cream, citrus and hazelnut. Delightful to drink right now but it will last for at least 10 years.

The 2022 Chardonnay La Masia Don Miguel Vineyard pours a youthful medium straw hue and offers more complexity on the nose, with delicate oak spice, a light flinty reduction, preserved lemon, and poached pear. Medium to full-bodied, it's rounded and supple on the palate, with a silky texture and a light, creamy feel. It's elegant and long on the palate and is going to hold on nicely over the next 5-7 years.

Bright, sunny aromas of citrus and buttery croissant waft from the glass of this vivacious Chardonnay. There's a bit more structure and flavors of roasted pear, vanilla crème brulee and the warmth of clove and cinnamon across a plush, textured palate that finishes with waves of barrel spice.
