'One of the great families of Northern California, and of course, one of the highest quality producers, the Martinellis – and rather remarkably so – only estate-bottle 15% of their production from over 300 acres of beautifully situated vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. No doubt Helen Turley, who worked at Martinelli and mentored its winemaking team, left a profound influence on the quality of the Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Syrahs and Zinfandels, a fact that can’t be overstated. The Chardonnays all go through full malolactic fermentation and tend to see about 50% new oak. The Pinot Noirs are always 100% destemmed and largely spend no longer than ten months in about 60% new French oak. More specifics are included with the following tasting notes.' Robert M. Parker Jr.
As this wine opens up deep aromas of blueberry, sweet leather and clean earth appear. Generous tannin structure is found on the palate with flavors of plum and Bing cherries that coat and last through the finish.

From the coolest area of the Russian River sites at the estate, the 2021 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch is lifted with candied roses, pine, and pure red cherry. It is full-bodied, with a good spine of acidity, ripe well-balanced tannins, a focused feel, and a long finish with ripe red plum and spices. Drink 2024-2040.

Loaded, with gorgeous succulent, lush boysenberry, mulberry and açaí berry fruit seamlessly inlaid with singed apple wood, anise and fruitcake details. Gains additional beguilement from a late flash of potpourri and black tea. Drink now through 2032. 863 cases made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch has deep scents of red cherry, mushroom and forest floor-it's still youthfully dense. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and seamless and boasts expansive, spicy fruit, generous earthy accents and a layered, lifted finish. It needs 2 to 3+ years in bottle to unwind. 868 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch Vineyard is one of the riper wines in the range. Sweet dark cherry, spice, leather, vanillin and sweet spice are front and center. The 2021 offers plenty of raciness, if not quite the textural richness that has been the norm here for years. This site in Green Valley is marked by an exceptionally long growing season.
