This concentrated white shows ultraripe character, courtesy of apricot, mango and pineapple notes, yet there is vivid acidity and a buried vein of mineral underneath. Feels balanced in the end, revealing tension between the power and restraint. Offers fine, spice-tinged length. Best from 2025 through 2033. 120 cases made, 25 cases imported.

The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres 1er Cru was picked on 26 August. It has a lively bouquet with fresh pear and red apples, quite pretty and focused. The palate is rounded, quite creamy on the entry, yellow plum and nectarine notes with a touch of spice towards the soft landing on the finish. Easygoing, but quite delicious.
