Domaine Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot 2021

The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is more structured, unwinding in the glass with aromas of smoky berries, sweet spices, plums and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the saline finish, it's one 2021 that will reward a bit of patience.

The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru conveys something sedate on the nose, not lacking in energy or tension, but quite refined and not needing to show off. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit laced with white pepper on the entry, orange rind and marmalade, though it scarpers out the door a bit quickly on the finish like the Chaumes. This is one cuvee that I feel is nixed by the growing season; a little dilution on the finish.
