Plenty of sweetness and spice in the nose: allspice, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and dried fruit. The flavor is of burnt caramel, dried herbs, black pepper, and dill pickle.
The long, warm finish is preceded by notes of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, and lingering pepper.

The full-bodied bouquet features doughy scents that are dry, resiny and clean. The palate entry is fresh, surprisingly fruity and wonderfully creamy; the midpalate taste is rich in a fruity, ripe manner and oaky. Concludes sap- and maple-like, oaky and bittersweet. One of the best straight rye whiskeys available.
