Laforêt Bourgogne Chardonnay from Maison Joseph Drouhin is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, picked by hand, coming from sub-regions throughout Burgundy. It derives its bouquet and taste from various terroirs; its general character from Macon, its crispy structure from Chablis, its body from Rully, Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet, and its youthful complexity from the young vines of Joseph Drouhin’s famous estate-owned “Crus”.
Laforêt is a great way to be introduced to the refined whites of Burgundy, as an aperitif or with seafood and chicken dishes. “Fruity and full of life. This is a classic white Burgundy and a good entry level wine for Burgundy in general. The color is golden yellow, with a greenish glint. The aromas are reminiscent of fresh grape and almond. Elegant texture”. – winemaker Véronique Boss-Drouhin
Aged in Stainless-steel vats (7 to 8 months) and 1 to 2 year old barrels for the wines of higher provenance. Throughout the aging process, decisions are taken only after careful tasting evaluation by the Drouhin family and their team. As with every other Joseph Drouhin wine, absolute priority is given to the true expression of terroir and character of the vintage.

LaForêt is such a historic white in the world of Burgundy. The Drouhin family created this wine more than 30 years ago so all the world could drink good white Burgundy at a friendly price. Given the same care and attention as their famous luxury wines, this vintage of LaForêt white is literally an obscene value! Wonderful fresh yet creamy and polished with citrus notes of lemon and clementine and vanilla and quince on the finish. This has fine balance and purity.
