Tio Pepe Palomino Fino Sherry

Bright lemon pulp, white peach and blanched almond notes race along. Light-bodied, with a persistent fleur de sel echo on the finish. A nice introduction to fino. Bottled January 2017. Drink now. 212,534 cases made.

Round and nutty, with mild floral and honey hints up front. The formula for Tio Pepe calls for a salty, crisp flavor profile with just enough complexity to thrust it into the upper echelon of finos. Slight mushroom and iodine notes appear on the finish.

Talking about which, the NV Tio Pepe Fino is an icon of Sherry wine. Produced from Palomino grapes aged in the Tio Pepe solera for an average of four years under flor. It has a light nose of dried flowers, almonds and olives, in a subtle way and a dry palate dominated by the chalky notes. Light and easy to drink, it is a good introduction to Fino Sherry.
