We tasted and loved El Jefe (Grande) which translates to 'the Big Boss'! This is an honest, solid red wine from Spain, authentic in taste and charming in style. Made by a family dedicated to high quality (like us! the Murray family is always looking for high quality wine with a great quality/price ratio!), El Jefe is deep, fresh and flexible enough to handle a wide variety of foods. Made of 100% Tempranillo, the main grape of Rioja, this is sourced from a single family estate in the northern table lands called ‘La Meseta’ which is farmed with sustainable and organic methods. Traditionally fermented in cement to preserve purity of fruit and fresh tannins, look for berry, white cherry, plum, stone and mocha notes. Serve this unoaked, lower alcohol (12.5%) red with Spanish-inspired foods such as grilled meats, beans, sausages, cured ham and/or sheep's milk cheeses, and/or with pizza, pasta and appetizers.
